Thusong Service Centre national business plan and provincial business plans for National Treasury (TAU/GTAC) and Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) (November 2005 – April 2007)
The Thusong Centres aim for the integrated delivery of government and other frontline services at accessible points within communities. The national business plan was developed by MCA to guide the roll out for government, considering location, management structure, services and layout. The plan also provides guidance for marketing and institutional processes to support the programme roll out and the allocation of financial and human resources. The process included thorough consultation with existing managers of Thusong Centres, community members using the centres and government agencies and partners responsible for providing the services.
Following the adoption of the National Business Plan, MCA provided support to the Provinces in completing their Business Plans. The project involved assisting all nine provinces in drafting Provincial Business Plans and Roll-out Strategies for Thusong Centres. As part of the process, MCA held workshops and meetings with provincial and municipal officials tasked with driving the Thusong Centres in all nine provinces.
