Western Cape Department of Human Settlements (May-June 2006)

MCA, in conjunction with UCT, the WC Department of Education, and the Department of Local Government and Housing, ran a two week (10 day) training course for Project Consolidate municipalities in the Western Cape during May/June 2006. The course aimed to provide municipal officials and councilors with training in the implementation of the integrated human settlements concept. The course was delivered in two one week modules, separated by a month for an assignment. The course consisted of a range of case studies relating to different aspects of integrated human settlement development and delivery, and complemented by an experiential exercise where the participants designed and planned a settlement using the tools provided during the course.
